35 Seeing Eye Dogs graduate as national numbers hit record high

Vision Australia

Today September 4, Vision Australia Seeing Eye Dogs will celebrate a major milestone, with 35 Seeing Eye Dogs graduating across the country - helping bring the total number of active Seeing Eye Dogs across Australia to a record 266.

Each dog has undergone almost two years of intensive training before being partnered with someone who is blind or has low vision, helping provide greater independence, mobility and confidence.

It takes over $50,000 and nearly two years of training and care before a Seeing Eye Dog can graduate.
