$5 all-day parking in the city centre

People riding into the city centre now have another convenient, affordable and secure parking facility.

The Circular Quay bike hub is easily accessed from the Pitt Street cycleway with a daily $5 rate or a monthly membership for $60.

The City of Sydney-owned facility is being run by Secure Parking and comes complete with lockers and showers where people can freshen up before and after work.

“We continue to make it easier and more convenient for office, retail and other workers to make the healthy and affordable choice to ride,” Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore AO said.

“Many people who ride don’t have these fantastic facilities at their place of work. We’ve stepped in because cycling helps reduce emissions and congestion on our roads and public transport.

“The newly opened Oxford Street cycleway is already welcoming people and we continue to link up expand our network so even more people can get active in getting around.”

The bike hub is easily accessed through Ah Toy Lane. It hosts parking for 200 bikes, including larger cargo bikes, along with 400 lockers and 14 female and 14 male showers.

“Secure Parking is in the mobility business and managing this innovative new centre is part of delivering on our mission,” Secure Parking General Manager NSW/ACT Darren Beazley said.

“We pride ourselves on being nimble in our commercial approach, identifying and developing opportunities as they arise. Managing bike hubs like this gives us a unique chance to demonstrate our knowledge, skills, and expertise while also providing a valuable community service.

“This is the first bicycle hub we’ve operated in Australia and our team is genuinely excited about this new way to support the cycling public. Our personalised service is well-known across NSW and I’m confident that users of the new City of Sydney bicycle hub will love it.”

The Circular Quay bike hub is available 24 hours a day for those with a membership and is staffed periodically Monday to Friday.
