For the 19th consecutive year, Irish agritech and agrimachinery companies will showcase their newest products and services at Fieldays, bringing cutting-edge innovation to the Enterprise Ireland Pavilion at Site D67 and several distributor sites across Mystery Creek. This year's delegation of 18 companies represents the full breadth of Irish agricultural innovation from AI-powered diagnostics to precision feeding systems, grassland machinery, and sustainable infrastructure.
Ireland and New Zealand mark 60 years of diplomatic relations in 2026, a milestone that underlines the depth of a partnership built on shared agricultural heritage, grass-based farming systems, and a mutual commitment to sustainable food production. That alignment continues to drive strong demand for Irish agritech in the New Zealand market, with Irish exports to the region growing year-on-year.
Enterprise Ireland Director, Australia and New Zealand, Lydia Rogers says: "Fieldays has been a flagship event in our calendar for many years and continues to provide an outstanding platform to showcase the strength, quality, and ambition of Irish agri-innovation. Ireland and New Zealand are natural partners, we share similar climates, agricultural models, and a determination to find smarter, more sustainable ways to farm.
"Our exhibitors this year range from first-time Fieldays participants bringing genuinely new technology to the New Zealand market, to long-established Irish manufacturers deepening their presence with expanded product ranges. What unites them is a commitment to solving real problems for real farmers - reducing costs, improving animal health, increasing efficiency, and lowering environmental impact. We look forward to welcoming New Zealand's farming community to the Ireland Pavilion at D67 throughout the week," she adds.
AI takes lab to the paddock
Irish animal health technology company Micron Agritech is making its Fieldays debut this year. The Micron Kit uses artificial intelligence to deliver rapid on-site faecal egg count (FEC) testing for cattle, sheep, horses, goats and Llamas identifying worms and liver and rumen fluke with lab-quality accuracy in under 10 minutes.
The Micron Kit requires only a faecal sample and a smartphone app connected to the Micron reader, enabling vets, farmers, and animal health professionals to make targeted treatment decisions on the spot. By identifying which animals genuinely need treatment, the system reduces unnecessary blanket dosing and helps slow the development of drug-resistance. The technology is already in widespread use across leading veterinary practices in Europe and is now entering the New Zealand market, where parasite management is a critical and costly challenge for livestock farmers.
New range expands Abbey Machinery's total cow offering
Abbey Machinery is expanding its 2026 product range with three new diet feeder models: the VF1700, VF1900, and VF4000. The additions offer increased flexibility and capacity for growing dairy operations, complementing an already extensive range that runs from 15 to 40 cubic metre capacities. With feed costs representing up to 60% of dairy production costs on many farms, accurate and consistent Total Mixed Ration (TMR) delivery is critical, and Abbey's premium twin and tri-auger diet feeders are engineered to ensure every mouthful delivers the correct balance of nutrients, minerals, and fibre. New Zealand dairy farmers already using Abbey equipment report measurable improvements in feed consistency and reductions in waste.
Malone brings the heavy-duty grassland machines
Malone Farm Machinery is showcasing two new specialist machines at Fieldays 2026, both engineered to handle the kind of heavy, damp grass crops that characterise Irish and New Zealand conditions. The Tedd-Air 1120-T is an 11.2-metre wide tedder built around a heavy-duty main frame with eight individual-wheel-mounted rotors, each equipped with seven hooked tines designed to lift wet, heavy grass and invert the crop for faster drying. Hydraulic accumulators provide machine stabilisation and ensure the unit tracks properly behind the tractor, while maintenance-free liquid grease-filled gearboxes reduce servicing demands.
Complementing the tedder is the Proline 610 twin-rotor swather, designed to follow the tedding operation and set up a clean, flat-topped box-profile swath ready for baling or forage harvesting. Built around a heavy-section central spine with a steered rear axle and flotation tyres, it tracks tightly on headland turns and delivers a fully adjustable swath width of 1.3 to 1.7 metres.
