FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Brisbane, QLD - March 2026
Seven-year-old Maurice Maas
is bringing around 200 children and parents together for the TidyTown Clean-Up
presented by Generation Kind on March 22,
in what is set to become Brisbane’s largest united youth-led cleaning effort.
Participants will meet at 10:00 AM at The Academy of Grounding in West End before heading out in teams to clean nearby streets and public spaces. After the clean-up, families will gather at Davies Park for a small community celebration with games, food and raffle prizes donated by local supporters.
All participating children will receive a TidyTown T-shirt, a burrito and drink donated by Guzman y Gomez, and the chance to win one of 100 raffle prizes generously provided by local businesses.
The initiative was inspired by Maurice, who wanted to encourage other children to take pride in their neighbourhood and help care for their community.
“If kids help clean up their neighbourhood, the whole city becomes nicer,” said Maurice.
The event aims to show that young people can play an important role in caring for their neighbourhoods and shaping a Better Brisbane.
The clean-up is part of Generation Kind, a youth initiative encouraging children and young people to lead acts of kindness, environmental responsibility and community action.
The initiative is proudly supported by
Property Inc., Entegy, Aussie, Menard Group, Formula Interiors, Leo Tsimpikas Real Estate, Workplace 365, Drakos Real Estate, Bunnings, Guzman y Gomez, The Academy of Grounding, Story Bridge Adventure Climb, T-Shirt Mill, Tilescope, Sparkletown, Urban Climb, Strike, FunctionWell and Maniax Axe Throwing,
whose contributions help make the event possible for participating families.
