A treasure trove of unclaimed items from Brisbane Airport has landed under the hammer in Lloyds Auctions’ biggest Lost Property Auction to date, with every item starting at $1 and all completely unreserved with all proceeds supporting Queensland children’s charities.

Over 70,000 passengers pass through the Brisbane Airport each day leaving behind a treasure trove for others and this year’s auction has attracted bidders from across the country.

Now open for bidding, the 2025 auction features an incredible range of over 800 lots, from luxury jewellery, laptops and cameras to surfboards, scooters and designer handbags, and even a black box and cockpit voice recorder from decommissioned aircrafts.

To mark 100 years of Brisbane Airport, this year’s auction also includes a special collection of heritage aviation memorabilia, giving enthusiasts a rare chance to own a piece of Queensland’s aviation history, such as the International Terminal Departure sign.

“This auction is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year,” said Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer at Lloyds Auctions. “Every single item is completely unreserved and starting from just $1. We have had bidders lining up with anticipation right around the nation looking to uncover treasures and for a good cause,” he continued.

Commenting on the airport’s centenary items and unclaimed property, Peter Doherty, Media & Corporate Communications Manager for Brisbane Airport, said: “It’s always fascinating to see what gets left behind by the 70,000 passengers who pass through Brisbane Airport each day. With our centenary celebrations this year, we’ve included some truly unique aviation pieces and hope to raise $100,000 to support Queensland children’s charities.”

The star of the auction is a stunning Bvlgari 18K gold diamond necklace valued at $11,000, alongside exclusive experiences including a personal airside tour of Brisbane Airport, 12 months of free parking, and special donations from the Brisbane Lions and Brisbane Heat.

Last year’s event raised $90,000 for the Courier-Mail Children’s Fund, benefitting charities including Little Wings, Baby Give Back, Fair Fight Foundation, and Cystic Fibrosis Queensland.

Bidding is now open, closing Sunday, 2nd November. To commemorate 100 years of the Brisbane Airport this auction event will be LIVE in person at the Lloyds Brisbane Auction Centre located in Acacia Ridge and will also be LIVE streamed on the Lloyds Website this Sunday, 2nd November from 10am AEST.
