AGRF and APAF Partner to Boost Multi-Omics for Australian Researchers
AGRF Ltd
Melbourne, Australia - 6 February 2026
AGRF Ltd (Australian Genome Research Facility) and the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (APAF) have announced a new partnership to support Australia’s research community through integrated multi-omic services. Multiomics aims to comprehensively analyse the interplay of different biomolecules responsible for biological processes to enhance our understanding of biological functions.
Both AGRF and APAF are nationally recognised facilities supported through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) via Bioplatforms Australia (BPA). With more than 25 years of experience, each brings specialised expertise to the partnership: AGRF in genomics, transcriptomics and Olink proteomics, and APAF in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, glycomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics. Together, this collaboration will provide coordinated access to complementary services and expert guidance across multi-omic platforms. This shared approach supports researchers in making the most of their valuable samples and research funding, helping them plan and interpret multi-omic projects with more confidence and impact.
“This partnership exemplifies the power of collaboration across BPA-funded and networked facilities. By combining our expertise, we offer researchers comprehensive consultation on how best to leverage the outputs from a diverse range of ‘omic platforms to address complex biological questions,” said Cath Moore, Chief Scientific Officer at AGRF.
“Through this partnership, we can provide researchers with a truly integrated multi‑omics pathway. Our goal is to strengthen the support we can offer to Australia’s research community to deliver deeper biological insights that can drive impactful discoveries,” said Meena Mikhael, APAF Manager.
This partnership shows how BPA–funded facilities work together in practical ways that benefit the research community. It brings together technology and expertise to help Australian scientists stay at the forefront of global discovery and translation of science.
