One of Southwestern Sydney's fastest-growing communities is welcoming a new piece of community infrastructure, with the opening of an aquatic facility in a $30 million community zone developed by Stockland and designed to support local families for generations.

Opening in Willowdale, the newest Aquabliss centre has been created to bring together learn-to-swim programs, water safety education, lap swimming and coaching in a space designed to serve babies, children, adults and competitive swimmers alike.

As thousands of new families continue to move into Sydney's southwest, access to community facilities that promote health, physical activity and essential life skills has assumed great importance. The new facility has been designed to help meet that growing demand while providing a welcoming place for families to learn, exercise and connect.

Learning to swim remains one of Australia's most important life skills. Alongside schools and families, community aquatic facilities play an important role in helping children develop confidence in and around water while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles that can last a lifetime.

Purpose-built for year-round use, Aquabliss Willowdale is a dual pool facility, featuring an 18 m Learn to Swim Pool plus a six-lane 25 m pool. The two pools ensure that everyone in the community can be catered to, through baby and preschool aquatic programs, adult learn-to-swim classes and competitive swimming pathways, making it a community destination that supports people at every stage of life.

"Aquabliss was built with the community in mind from the very beginning," said Nitin Singhi, Managing Director of Aquabliss. "Southwestern Sydney is growing rapidly, and families deserve access to facilities that will continue serving them well into the future. We wanted to create a place where babies take their very first splash, children build confidence in the water, adults can learn new skills or stay active, and local swimmers have somewhere to train and grow. Our hope is that Aquabliss Willowdale becomes part of everyday family life as a place where people feel welcome, supported, and connected to their community."

Haydn Belshaw, Chief Operating Manager of Aquabliss, said learning to swim delivers benefits well beyond the pool. "Swimming is much more than a recreational activity. It's an essential life skill that helps keep people safe around water while building confidence, resilience and lifelong healthy habits. Providing families with access to quality swimming and water safety education gives children skills that can stay with them for life."

The community is invited to the Aquabliss Willowdale Grand Opening, where visitors can tour the new facility and meet the Aquabliss team and swim teachers.

Families wishing to attend are encouraged to register in advance via the event page using the Eventbrite booking link provided by Aquabliss.

The opening will take place on 18 July at 10 am at Aquabliss Willowdale, 145 Jamboree Avenue, Denham Court NSW 2565.
