Atlas Discover makes jobs and skills data more accessible

Jobs and Skills Australia

Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) has launched a new-look, easier-to-use way to explore jobs, careers and labour market information.

Designed with people of all levels of data literacy in mind, Atlas Discover can help students and parents exploring career options, people considering a career change or their next role, and anyone wanting to better understand opportunities in the Australian labour market.

Atlas Discover has new features that allow users to compare occupations side-by-side and explore differences in pay, working conditions, qualifications and the future demand across Australia.

Jobs and Skills Australia Deputy Commissioner Megan Lilly said the release of Atlas Discover aligned nicely with Jobs & Skills Month, where Australians were being encouraged to consider their own pathways to success.

"The most powerful thing we can do here at Jobs and Skills Australia is take a broad view of the Australian labour market and turn that information into insights people can use,” Deputy Commissioner Lilly said.

"We have placed the user front and centre with Atlas Discover by responding to how people look for information and what they need to make decisions about learning, work and careers.

"Jobs & Skills Month is an important time to reflect on the fact that the pathways we take to our careers are not identical. We each face our own goals, challenges and opportunities as we move through learning and work," Deputy Commissioner Lilly said.

"The Australian economy is changing with the continued advance of artificial intelligence and other technologies, alongside the ongoing growth of sectors like clean energy.

"By combining information about the labour market now with insights of our future workforce needs, Atlas Discover can help Australians better understand their options and more confidently make their next move."

The launch of Atlas Discover comes during the inaugural Jobs & Skills Month celebration with events taking place across all states and territories.

Atlas Discover is now available on the Jobs and Skills Australia website: https://www.jobsandskills.gov.au/jobs-and-skills-atlas/discover
