#AUDITORPROUD DAY: BRAINS, BOTS AND BRIGHT FUTURES
Chartered Accountants ANZ
Chartered Accountants ANZ (CA ANZ) is celebrating #AuditorProud Day in Australia and across the globe, in recognition of the audit profession, and the talented professionals within it, who ensure it plays a vital role in the economy.
The theme of the 11th annual #AuditorProud Day is Brains, Bots and Bright Futures, as CA ANZ pays tribute to the way human intelligence can be empowered and enhanced by technology.
Amir Ghandar, CA ANZ Reporting and Assurance Leader said it is clear that the human element remains essential and auditors are not likely to be replaced by AI or bots any time soon.
“While investors are increasingly turning to AI for insights, our latest investor confidence survey reveals they still rely on auditors and trust the human element to guide their most critical decisions,” said Mr Ghandar.
The CA ANZ research shows that while nearly half of investors are now using AI tools to guide their decisions, independent auditors remain the most trusted source, with nine out of ten expressing confidence in audited financial statements. This underscores the enduring value of human assurance in a digital age.
“At the heart of audit lies trust, accountability, and ethical judgment, and these are human qualities that algorithms can assist but not replicate,” said Mr Ghandar.
“Technology enhances auditors' work, but it’s the human touch that earns trust and drives real-world change.
“Advanced technologies like AI and data analytics are transforming audit execution.
“Today’s auditors are not just ticking boxes – they’re telling data stories, understanding business strategy, and building relationships.
“Audit offers a career where analytical minds meet meaningful work. It’s a profession that attracts those who want to make a difference – through insight, integrity, and innovation.”
CA ANZ has been celebrating “#AuditorProud Day for more than a decade, to shine a spotlight on the work of thousands of auditors across Australia and New Zealand.
“We want to uplift the journeys, voices, and impact of auditors. From sustainability assurance to tech-driven transformation, auditors are shaping the future across the globe,” said Mr Ghandar.
