AUSTRALIANS ASKED TO 'LEND THEIR VOICE' TO PEOPLE AFFECTED BY HEAD AND NECK CANCER AS SOLD-OUT JOHN FARNHAM CELEBRATION CONCERT NEARS

Head and Neck Cancer Australia (HANCA) has launched Lend Your Voice, a new national campaign inviting Australians to leave a message of support for the thousands of people affected by Head and Neck Cancer each year, with entrants going in the running to win VIP tickets to the sold-out The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend (The Celebration Concert).

HANCA is the official charity beneficiary of the one-night-only celebration concert, to be held at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on Sunday 20 September, featuring more than 120 artists on stage including the John Farnham Band, a 38-piece orchestra and choir. John Farnham will not be performing.

Due to overwhelming demand, fans will now be able to experience this unforgettable music moment live and on the big screen at their local HOYTS cinema on September 20. 

The Lend Your Voice campaign draws a direct line between the concert and its cause. John Farnham’s own openness about his experience with oral cancer has helped shine a spotlight on Head and Neck Cancer, a disease that receives comparatively little public attention despite its scale.

More than 5,600 Australians are diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer every year, and around 18,000 are living with its long-term impacts. For many, treatment changes the way they speak, eat and are heard. There is no national screening program for Head and Neck Cancer, making early detection critical.

“John Farnham’s own experience with oral cancer has helped so many Australians understand what this disease really looks like, and it’s a huge part of why we’re proud to be the charity beneficiary of this concert,” said Nadia Rosin, CEO of Head and Neck Cancer Australia. 

“Lend Your Voice is a simple way for every Australian to be part of that story. Leave a message of support, or make a donation, and you’re helping the thousands of families living with Head and Neck Cancer feel seen and heard.”

Fans and members of the public can visit lendyourvoice.org.au to leave a free message of support for people affected by Head and Neck Cancer. 

Visitors to the site can also make a tax-deductible donation, with every dollar helping HANCA provide free access to specialist nurses, counselling support and trusted information to patients and families when they need it most.

Concertgoers can also visit the Head and Neck Cancer Australia marquee at Rod Laver Arena on the night for a free oral cancer check and meet members of the HANCA community.
