Author and podcaster Hannah Ferguson joins ACF as national ambassador for nature and climate action

Australia’s national environment group, the Australian Conservation has today welcomed political commentator, author and podcaster Hannah Ferguson as a national ambassador.

Ms Ferguson, a leading voice for young Australians, is known for her bold and thoughtful commentary on social issues. She is the co-founder and CEO of the popular Cheek Media platform and podcast Big Small Talk, the author of best-selling book Bite Back and a Forbes 30 Under 30 honouree. Earlier this year, she delivered a powerful address on the future of new media to the National Press Club.

With her sharp political insight, passionate advocacy for social justice and an ability to cut through the noise to make political engagement accessible for a new generation of change-makers, she joins ACF to help amplify the urgent need for action on climate change and the protection of Australia’s unique natural environment.

“I am so proud to be working with ACF to amplify their work protecting and preserving the environment for the next generation. Their advocacy and expertise is unparalleled, and I feel privileged to work with them to fight for greater awareness and legislative strength,” said Ms Ferguson.

Ms Ferguson will support ACF’s national campaigns, amplify youth perspectives in the climate movement, and help mobilise the next generation to demand action on the intertwined crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.

“I recently had the opportunity to travel with ACF to Ningaloo Reef in northern Western Australia on a media trip, and the experience was one of the most impactful of my career. Seeing firsthand the damage to the reef, and the way ACF respectfully engages with affected communities to understand their needs and experience was special,” she added.

“Climate and environmental activism is a crucial area of learning and advocacy for me, and partnering with ACF is an amazing opportunity to have these conversations with my audience that feature expert insights.”

ACF Chief Executive Kelly O’Shanassy said Ms Ferguson’s voice will be a powerful addition to the movement for nature and climate action.

“Hannah brings a sharp intellect, a deep commitment to social equity, and an authentic passion for the environment,” Ms O’Shanassy said. “Her ability to engage and energise young people is exactly what the climate movement needs. We’re thrilled to welcome her as a national ambassador.”

With a strong following across digital platforms, Ms Ferguson represents a new wave of socially conscious communicators who are reshaping how Australians – especially younger generations – understand their role in building a more just, sustainable future.
