Authors & Illustrators Celebrate Reading
‘Thank you so, so, so, so, soo much! This event was a dream come true.’ The children of Western Sydney, like many others, have had a unique experience with authors and illustrators. Writers and artists donate their time to events and literary lunches. The regions of the Children’s Book Council are active across Australia. The literary lunches are a highlight for many children as they engage with authors and illustrators, enjoy keynotes, get signed programs, engage with activities to celebrate books.
Some of Australia’s best-selling writers as well as new writers meet their ‘fans’ including best selling authors such as Alex Moses author of, ‘Twinnings’, Nathan Luff author of ‘The Nerd Herd’ series, Susanne Gervay author of the ‘I Am Jack’ books.
Literary lunches were held in the Northern Beaches. The next literary lunch is in the Illawarra 16th October. Regions such as CBCA Eastern Suburbs are holding an event at the Coogee Bay Club on 13th June. There is more.
The CBCA supports school libraries, engagement with reading, the review journal ‘Reading Time’ where authors, teachers, librarians review new titles.
