The event plans to bring together the region’s network of avocado growers as well as growers from the broader horticultural industry.
This 2-day event offers growers a chance to meet and network with others involved in the horticulture industry, see a huge range of trade and machinery displays, hear from industry suppliers and find out more about Avocados Australia’s export program. Avocados Australia’s NQ Avocado Export Regional Forum has been integrated into the event in four special sessions where growers can hear from expert speakers on how exporting and emerging global trends can deliver stronger farm gate returns and they will be able to see the latest market access developments and more.
From orchard machinery and harvesting equipment, to irrigation systems, crop nutrition products, on-farm technology, and post-harvest innovations, the ‘Show Days’ trade area will be packed with suppliers ready to share their expertise and showcase the latest solutions. You’ll also find exhibitors in rural finance, insurance, and other services.
From corporate farming operations to small family-run orchards, the NQ avocado industry represents around AUD$257 million in annual production value.*
NQ avocado grower and Avocados Australia’s Chair, Matt Kleyn, said that the interest in this event from industry and suppliers has been very positive so far and he knows those who attend will find the experience of great value.
“Whether you’re looking for your next piece of machinery, exploring new technology, or just keen to see what’s new in the industry, this will be a great opportunity to connect directly with suppliers and see products up close,” said Matt Kleyn.
“Our event will provide a fun and enjoyable way to find out about new products, to fact-find and network. It will assist anyone in the hort industry who is actively looking for solutions to support efficiencies and operational improvements in their farming operations.”
John Tyas, Avocados Australia’s CEO, will be in attendance and presenting at the event as part of the NQ Avocado Export Regional Forum sessions.
“Events like these provide growers with the chance to source the best information to help improve their businesses, and we will have experts available to answer growers’ questions,” said John Tyas.
