From grassroots projects to life-changing initiatives, the customer-owned bank is once again searching for passionate Queenslanders with ideas that will make their communities stronger, healthier and more connected, and in Queensland Country Bank’s hometown of Townsville, the impact of the program is already being felt.

In the 2025 funding round, two local organisations received Good for Good Community Grants, supporting projects that will continue delivering benefits across the region: DV Safe Phone received funding to deliver DV Safe Phone Kits through a collaboration with Queensland Country Bank Stadium and DVConnect, helping provide vital connection and support for people impacted by domestic and family violence, and on Magnetic Island, the RSL Sub Branch received funding for robust, quality marquees that will support RSL activities and broader community events.

Queensland Country Bank CEO Aaron Newman said Townsville had always been at the heart of the organisation’s story, and the Good for Good Community Grants were about continuing to invest directly into the communities that support the Bank. “Queensland Country Bank was born in regional Queensland, our headquarters are here in Townsville, and supporting the communities where our members live and work is part of who we are,” Mr Newman said. “There are incredible community groups across Townsville and North Queensland doing important work every day, and these grants are about helping turn great ideas into reality. Whether it’s a sporting club needing equipment, a charity expanding its services, a community group improving facilities, or an organisation creating opportunities for locals, we want to hear from them.”

Since launching in 2007, Queensland Country Bank’s Good for Good Community Grants program has invested more than $3 million into 682 community projects across Queensland, supporting initiatives across health, education, sport, culture, accessibility, environment and community wellbeing.
