Media Release                     Happening this Sunday, 23 November, 2025

Cash for footsteps is Rosalie Rotolo’s pitch to help the Salvos!

How far can political candidate Rosalie go... to door-knock & meet Unley electors?

Unley Campaign Launch Event:

What: ‘Follow Rotolo’ to start our Fund Raiser for The Salvos!

When: Sunday 23rd November at 3.00 pm

Where: Starting at Rosalie’s Office, 44/46 King William Rd, Goodwood and walk with us to a Community BBQ at Unley Oval, for a fund-raising event with The Salvos at 4 pm

Political candidate for the State Seat of Unley, Rosalie Rotolo, has already covered hundreds of kilometres in her 10 months campaigning to meet electors in over 15,000 homes.

But she hopes to do more, by launching a creative mission to turn her steps into $Dollars for the local Salvation Army with a ‘Follow Rotolo’ fund-raising activity. Like most charity drives, it asks supporters to commit Dollars per kilometre - as she walks the multiple suburbs of the electorate.

Between now and a week before the Mach 2026 election Rosalie will use her watch to count the number of steps she takes when door knocking, letter boxing, going to community events or attending shopping centre listening posts.

The ‘walking more’ money that Rosalie raises will go to the Salvo’s Unley to support the important work it does in Unley and surrounding suburbs.

Already a long-time supporter of the ‘Salvos’, she contacted the Salvation Army of Unley Corps with the plan to increase her funding effort by measuring her footsteps to generate more cash. This is it: https://community.salvationarmy.org.au/rosalie-rotolo-liberal-for-unley

You can donate to the Salvos for any amount, or sponsor Rosalie for a day starting at $100 and Rosalie commits to taking a minimum of 10,000 steps each day on the campaign trail.

Unley Salvos has a target to raise $30,000 this year and is still short by way too much – so Rosalie wants to help balance the books!

“The Salvation Army has been a cornerstone of care and connection in our community for generations,” says Rosalie, an active supporter of the community work of the Salvos.

“At the Unley Worship and Community Centre, incredible work is being done every day to support those in need — whether it’s through practical assistance, providing a safe space, or simply offering a listening ear. Their commitment to serving with compassion and dignity makes a real difference in people’s lives.

“It’s always inspiring to see the way faith and service come together to create hope and strength for so many. A heartfelt thank you goes to Colin and the dedicated team and volunteers at the Salvation Army in Unley for their tireless efforts and the warmth they bring to our community”.

Background on Rosalie: “I’m a resident and business owner of Unley for almost 30 years. I’m the Liberal candidate for our area, but before any of that, I’m a neighbour, a mum, and someone who cares about the little things that make this place feel like home. “For me, Unley is the heartbeat of family-run shops opening before dawn, parents juggling school drop-offs with a smile, restaurants pushing through tough times, and locals always finding a way to show up for each other. “I’m stepping forward because I believe local politics shouldn’t be about loud promises or tired slogans. It should be about listening, fixing what’s broken, and making sure the people who hold this community together — small business owners, workers, families — are actually heard”.

Sponsor Guarantee: The Salvation Army, in the interests of transparency will run and handle the logistics and collection of money, to give confidence to donors – regardless of their political beliefs.
