North Sydney Council is inviting the community to share stories of people making a difference in North Sydney.

It might be a neighbour who quietly lends a hand, a young person volunteering their time, or a group creating opportunities for people to connect. These everyday contributions, big and small, help make North Sydney a caring and connected place to live.

Each year, the awards recognise individuals and groups whose efforts strengthen local neighbourhoods, from supporting others and building community spirit to caring for the environment and creating spaces for connection.

Mayor Zoë Baker said:

“Our community is shaped by the people who give their time, energy and care to others, often without expecting anything in return.

“Sharing these stories is a meaningful way to recognise the people and groups who help make North Sydney such a vibrant and welcoming place.

“If someone comes to mind, we encourage you to put their story forward and help celebrate their contribution.”

Whether it’s a volunteer, local changemaker or community project, every story helps shine a light on the people making a difference across North Sydney.

Submissions are open now and take around 10 minutes to complete online. Community members whose stories are shared may be recognised through Council communications and as part of a community celebration later in the year.
