Celebrity Chef Sarah Todd Brings Exclusive Indian Pop-Up to Derrel’s, Camperdown

Camperdown, NSW — July 25th Renowned Australian chef and media personality Sarah Todd is partnering with Derrel’s in Camperdown for a pop-up running for over five weeks, from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, August 31.
The collaboration brings to life an exclusive menu crafted specifically for this pop-up, created by Todd in partnership with Derrel’s Head Chef Yogesh Silwal, drawing from deeply rooted Indian flavours and street-style inspiration.

The menu features three standout dishes:
• Dahi Bhalla Papdi Chaat on Banana Leaf, layered with ghost chilli drizzle and classic street-food textures
• IPA Bhatti da Murgha, mustard-spiced charred chicken with roomali roti and hop glaze
• Peanut Butter Lassi with Parle-G, a salty-sweet, creamy indulgence for winter

Each dish will be served with Sarah Todd’s signature Hot Toddy Sauce on the side — a bold, handcrafted chilli sauce that brings extra heat and depth to the table.
To complement the food offering, long-time collaborators Young Henrys have created a limited-edition Curry Leaf XPA, brewed using leaves picked from the curry leaf tree growing on-site at their Newtown brewery. The brew will be available exclusively at The Lady Hampshire from July 25, until sold out.

“We’ve worked hard to bring flavours that are both nostalgic and wildly fresh,” says Sarah Todd. “This collaboration is a beautiful meeting of ideas and ingredients.”
“There is a real parallel between brewers and chefs; both have to be creative and artistic whilst understanding and utilising natural ingredients in their work. They have to be hardworking, scientific and precise, aiming to replicate the magic of a dish or a beer day after day,” says Young Henrys’ Oscar McMahon.

“It was so great seeing our brewers collaborate on this unique beer for Derrel’s; Sarah is such a passionate and inquisitive chef with a nuanced palate and incredible ability to verbalise flavours and aromas. Our brewers Jesse, Rory & Sutto are quite the same! The meeting of these two worlds turned into a Curry Leaf XPA (world first!?) that really showcases the spice and aroma of Tassie grown Australian hops, heightened by the tannic and spice notes of an addition of fresh curry leaves, lovingly picked from the curry tree (Murraya koenigii) in the YH garden, planted and tended by the best gardener in the inner west (my mum).”
