NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy Program funding recipients to be announced

 

What: The NSW Government will announce the successful recipients in Round 1 of the NSW Rugby World Cup Legacy Program.

 

Up to $2.15 million was available during the Round 1 with grants available to rugby clubs and councils to improve rugby facilities and infrastructure, improve player pathways and increase participation.

 

The Program is part of the NSW Government’s $10 million investment in rugby union as a legacy of NSW hosting games at the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.

 

NSW Government representatives, NSW Rugby Union CEO Peter Murphy and Chris Stanley Managing Director, Rugby World Cup 2027 will join players from Merrylands Rugby Club at Holroyd Sportsground to celebrate Cumberland City Council receiving funding for a female friendly facility upgrade at the venue.

 

When: 10am Saturday, 30 May 2026
