HEADLINE: ELS Appointed to Deliver Onsite Emergency Medical Infrastructure and Care for Visy’s Yatala Operations
Yatala, Queensland - Emergency Logistics Solutions (ELS), a leading Australian provider of private pre-hospital emergency care and occupational health solutions, has been appointed by global packaging and recycling leader Visy Group to manage onsite emergency medical operations at its Yatala manufacturing precinct - located on the northern Gold Coast - in South East Queensland.
Under the agreement, ELS has mobilised dedicated, 12-hour daily clinical coverage to support more than 700 workforce personnel and over 100 contractor firms currently executing major infrastructure developments at the Yatala site.
The appointment highlights ELS’s ability to rapidly deploy turnkey medical solutions for high-density, complex industrial environments.
Jeremy Collins, Managing Director of ELS, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to worker health, safety, and proactive risk management on high-hazard sites.
"Visy is demonstrating exceptional leadership by placing top-tier medical infrastructure directly on the ground for its workforce," said Mr. Collins.
"A site of this scale that combines heavy construction activity with specialised manufacturing processes demands rapid, high-level clinical intervention. Our role is to bridge the critical gap between an incident occurring and primary care being delivered, ensuring workers receive immediate, advanced treatment right when they need it."
A primary differentiator for ELS is its Queensland Health general approval to possess and administer scheduled medicines, supported by 37+ years of combined frontline experience and delivering the same standard of care since 2004.
Unlike some first-aid contractors, ELS registered paramedics and nurses operate under independent authorisation to carry and administer scheduled medicines - such as advanced pain relief and cardiac medication - improving patient outcomes in acute situations.
ELS has established on-site operations and is providing registered clinical personnel to manage acute injury response, health triage, and occupational care.
As project milestones advance, ELS will also assist in setting up and commissioning Yatala’s permanent, state-of-the-art medical centre.
"Our integration at Yatala allows us to manage everything from minor occupational assessments to immediate trauma stabilisation," added Collins.
"By combining registered clinicians, our own scheduled-medicines authority and the ability to stand up and run an on-site medical facility, we give Visy a single, responsive medical partner that looks after its people and keeps the site running."
The Yatala deployment adds to ELS’s growing portfolio of industrial, resource, motorsport, and remote medical operations across Australia.
It also delivers medical support to Queensland Raceway as the official provider of emergency medical support on the racetrack, highlighting its ability to deliver care solutions to both boutique and large-scale events.
Beyond the track, ELS delivers on-site and event medical cover for high-risk worksites and remote operations across mining, oil and gas, film, events, and construction, having worked with clients including Tier 1 operators such as Rio Tinto, BHP, Glencore, Thiess, John Holland, and Stanwell.
