Estia Health to acquire six AnglicareSA residential aged care homes in South Australia

Estia Health has reached an agreement with AnglicareSA to acquire its six (6) residential aged care homes in Adelaide: Brompton, Elizabeth Dutton Court, Elizabeth East, Grange, Trott Park and Westbourne Park.

Subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals, settlement is expected in late October, at which point Estia Health will assume ownership and operations of the homes.

Key highlights

• Strategic addition of 579 residential aged care places to the existing Estia Health presence in South Australia.
• Approximately 850 employees expected to transition to Estia Health, providing certainty for team members and continuity of care for residents.
• Proceeds of the acquisition to underpin AnglicareSA’s continued investment and growth in community aged care and retirement living, along with ongoing work to support people experiencing hardship, disadvantage and social exclusion.

Estia Health Chief Executive Officer Sean Bilton said: “The organisation is focused on ensuring continuity of care and a smooth transition. We want to reassure residents that they will continue to receive the same dedicated care and services from the people they know and trust.”

AnglicareSA agreed to the sale of its six residential aged care sites following a direct and confidential approach from Estia Health and subsequent review of its services to ensure strategic alignment, and guaranteed continuity of a high standard of care for residents and employment of its aged care employees.

This week, senior representatives from Estia Health and AnglicareSA will meet with residents, families and employees to provide information and respond to questions.

Chief Executive Officer of AnglicareSA Grant Reubenicht said: “This is a significant decision that will ensure residents continue to receive the same high-quality, compassionate care from familiar faces, while also benefiting from the greater resources and future investment that a larger specialist aged care provider like Estia Health can provide.

“For more than 165 years AnglicareSA has remained committed to supporting people experiencing hardship, disadvantage and social exclusion – this decision ensures we can continue to evolve our services to deliver our vision of justice, respect and fullness of life for all,” Mr Reubenicht said.

During the transition period, residents and employees at the six aged care homes will be supported by Estia Health’s Integration and Commissioning team, before moving into the organisation’s ongoing operational structure.

Estia Health and AnglicareSA will continue to work closely with residents, families and employees throughout the process to ensure continuity of care and a seamless transition.
