EXPERT ALERT: 'Bridge the Gap' this World Parkinson's Day

One Aussie is diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease every 40 minutes. It’s the fastest growing neurological condition in the world and the second most common in Australia, after dementia.

World Parkinson’s Day on 11 April aims to raise awareness of the disease, reduce stigma and advocate for better care and research support.

Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) has a team of experts, including clinician researchers, working to improve our understanding, diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson’s.

They are available to speak on the importance of World Parkinson’s Day, providing comment on:

  • Current research projects
  • Improving understanding of Parkinson’s Disease, including its symptoms and steps to diagnoses, and
  • Advocacy work to improve support for patients
