Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA)

This Dementia Action Week, world-leading researchers from NeuRA (Neuroscience Research Australia) can share what we know about reducing risk, the future of diagnosis, plus how we can improve treatment and care.

Our researchers are available to help you:

  • Break down the myth that dementia is normal part of ageing
  • Find out more about the 14 lifestyle factors that we can tackle to reduce our risk of dementia
  • Learn how technology is accelerating work to improve diagnosis, including providing earlier diagnosis
  • Share what’s being done to improve treatment and care for people living with dementia and
  • Reduce stigma about the condition.

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia, and it is forecast to soon become the leading cause.

Dementia cases are on the rise globally too, but nearly half of all cases could be avoided by addressing modifiable lifestyle factors.

NeuRA researchers are available for interview and can speak on the condition, their research, and what we can all do to reduce our dementia risk.

Dementia Action Week runs from 15 to 21 September 2025.
