Sydney, Australia — 10 November 2025 — Following the viral success of his acclaimed short film Utopia, writer-director Kosta Nikas has just wrapped production on Sacrifice — a bold and haunting new dystopian vision.

With Utopia achieving viral success worldwide and pirated into more than 40 languages, Nikas captured the imagination of global audiences and critics alike. The film’s universal message and striking cinematic style solidified his reputation for blending sharp social commentary with visual poetry. Expectations are now high for Sacrifice, which builds on that momentum with a disturbing yet deeply human allegory for a world at the edge.

Sacrifice is less about dystopia as spectacle and more about the inner landscapes of human choice,” says writer-director Kosta Nikas. “We live in an age where almost everything has a price tag — our time, our attention, even our identity. The film asks what remains when value itself becomes transactional. Is there still room for selflessness in a world where everything is measured by personal gain? Sacrifice is my attempt to hold a mirror to our current reality and push it a step further — to question how far we’ve already gone in commodifying what makes us human, and whether acts of true generosity can survive in such a climate.”
