North Sydney Council is offering a wide range of free activities for the whole family this school holidays.

Designed to help parents keep children entertained without the extra cost, the program includes outdoor adventures, creative sessions and family friendly events across the local area.

A highlight is the free Easter Kids Treasure Hunt at Northside Produce Market on Sunday 4 April, where children can explore stalls and learn about food from local farmers and producers.

Families can also enjoy live music at the Sunset Series on Sunday 11 April, featuring high energy brass group The Hot Potato Band, alongside local performers The Young Guns.

North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker said the program is about creating moments that bring the community together.

“School holidays are about making memories, trying new things and spending time together,” Mayor Baker said.

“In North Sydney, we want young people to feel connected, inspired and part of a community that is active, creative and welcoming. These activities are a simple way for families to get out, have fun and enjoy everything our local area has to offer.”

Children can get hands on at the Coal Loader through eco workshops exploring sustainability, materials and solar power, or join Bushcare sessions including guided walks, wildlife spotting and a family kayak experience on the harbour.

Creative and youth focused activities are also on offer, including sewing and upcycling workshops, a youth led sewing circle and a beginner friendly Dungeons and Dragons session for teens at Stanton Library.

Younger children can meet authors and illustrators at a special Storytime session, while families can take part in the Where’s Wally hunt running throughout April.

Most activities are free, with some requiring bookings.
