Game, set, sip! Celebrate the 2026 Australian Open at Riverland Bar

Riverland Bar

With the Australian Open set to take over Melbourne from 12 January to 1 February 2026, Riverland Bar is gearing up to become the city’s go-to riverside hub for pre-match hangs, live viewing, post-match celebrations and everything in between.

Located along the Yarra beneath Federation Square and just a short walk to Melbourne Park, Riverland Bar is primed to capture all the tournament hype in the city, as it turns tangerine for the Grand Slam season with the help of the team at Aperol Spritz.

Last year, thousands of tennis fans flocked to Riverland Bar across the two-week event, making it one of the hottest places in the city to catch the AO action. With vibrant energy, open-air seating and unbeatable views of the city skyline, it’s the perfect spot for fans to soak up the tennis atmosphere, even if they’re not courtside.

Riverland Bar Venue Manager Craig Fleeton said the AO is one of Melbourne’s most electric times of year, and the venue is ready to welcome locals and visitors alike with a new summer Aperol menu, including the iconic spritz plus two creative Aperol twists on classic cocktails.

“The AO brings an incredible buzz to the city, and we’ve created the ideal riverside spot for fans to gather, whether it’s for a drink before heading to Melbourne Park, kicking back to watch a match live on our big screen, or celebrating a big win after play,” Craig said. “Guests can keep the fun going with our Aperidisco pop-up – the perfect spot for a dance and bevvy in the sun after a big day of tennis watching. We’ll also be serving up limited edition Loaded Italian Chips to satisfy cravings and pair perfectly with an Aperol spritz, Aperol Collins or Aperol Margarita.

“We want everyone to feel part of the action, no matter where their seats are. Riverland is all about great views, great drinks and great energy.”

Catch key matches on Riverland’s outdoor big screen throughout the tournament, perfect for after-work matches, day sessions or simply soaking up the AO spirit. Fans can also enjoy DJs every Thursday to Saturday to keep the vibes high. Crowd favourites like pizza, burgers and parmas will also be on offer.

Whether fans are settling in for a full match or just dropping by for a quick set, Riverland Bar has something to offer every tennis lover.

Bookings are highly recommended throughout the AO seasons, with walk-ins welcome when available.
