11 June 2025: Australians are invited to take time out for themselves this Saturday with free Global Wellness Day events nationwide, which also will celebrate the launch of a new online national wellness calendar designed to inspire ongoing wellbeing experiences.
Katherine Droga, Australia’s first Global Wellness Day Ambassador and founder of Well Traveller said the day offers an opportunity for Australians to slow down and reset.
“Global Wellness Day is a perfect opportunity to pause, reconnect, and reset our sense of wellbeing. It’s a chance to discover your well place—whatever that means to you—and best of all, it’s free,” Droga said.
Presented by Well Traveller in Australia, Global Wellness Day is a not-for-profit movement now celebrated in more than 170 countries. Its mission is simple: to inspire people to live well, proving that one day can change your life.
Australians will be spoilt for choice on Saturday with a program of beautifully curated free experiences ranging from yoga and breathwork to forest bathing and equine wellness activities. These events are part of a broader national wellness movement and showcase the launch of the new Well Traveller What’s On Wellness Calendar, which makes it easier than ever to discover wellbeing experiences across the country.
Some of the experiences on offer this Saturday include: free events in the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens, which will host three signature experiences: Your Morning Ritual on Sydney Harbour, blending mind-body movement with gratitude; Awaken Well: Small habits big shifts, an inspiring session led by Well Traveller TV host and seven-time world surfing champion Layne Beachley with Awake Academy co-founder Tess Brouwer; and Healing Herbs, a guided walk exploring the power of botanicals with Jurlique’s Farm Manger, Cherie Hutchinson. All events in the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens include a take home gift from Jurlique.
In Byron Bay, The Wellness Trail at Elements of Byron offers time out with some pampering and a gentle rainforest walk, while in the Adelaide Hills visitors can experience the Jurlique Farm Tour or Walk Sublime’s magical music with horses. Western Australia’s Margaret River will host a guided Forest Therapy walk in Boranup Forest with Mindful in Nature, and on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Hot Springs Yoga at Peninsula Hot Springs will offer mindful movement in the geothermal waters. In Tasmania, the Wild Wellness Pod Eve Retreat will provide guided breathwork and meditation, followed by journaling, star gazing and an optional icy plunge.
Jurlique Spas across the country will also open their doors for free Global Wellness Day treatments, with Loic Rethore, CEO of Jurlique, saying the brand’s purpose aligns closely with the day. “As pioneers of naturally effective skincare, we hope to encourage people to enjoy slow beauty, mindfulness and finding balance in nature,” he said.
Droga, one of Australia’s most respected voices in wellness travel, said the new Well Traveller What’s On Wellness Calendar will be an ongoing resource for Australians to explore the best of local wellness. “The Global Wellness Day free program will feature on the brand new Well Traveller What’s On Calendar. If you are looking for wellness, it will be the place to go to find it,” she said.
As a mother and wellness advocate, Droga’s connection to the day is personal. “I’ve seen the power of early wellbeing habits in my own family. If we can model that for young people—to pause, to move, to breathe and get into nature—we’re setting them up for lifelong health,” she said.
Tickets to all Global Wellness Day events are free, but places are limited. To secure your spot and explore the full national program, visit www.welltraveller.com.au/whats-on-in-australia. ENDS
