Harris Park will come alive with colour, culture, food and entertainment this November as thousands of people

come together to celebrate Diwali 2026 in the heart of Sydney's Little India.

Taking over Wigram Street, Harris Park on Saturday 7 November from 1:00pm to 9:00pm, the free

community celebration is expected to attract approximately 25,000 people for an afternoon and evening

showcasing the traditions, flavours and energy of Diwali.

One of the most significant celebrations on the Western Sydney cultural calendar, Harris Park Diwali will bring

together the local community, businesses, performers, families and visitors from across Sydney.

The event will feature a full program of live cultural performances and entertainment, alongside food

vendors, market stalls, family activities and community organisations.

For local businesses, the event also represents an opportunity to welcome thousands of visitors into Harris Park

and showcase the precinct that has become synonymous with Indian food and culture in Sydney.

Event organiser AMA Event Management is working closely with local community representatives and

stakeholders in the lead-up to the event, with community participation forming an important part of the 2026

program.

AMA Event Management Director Monique Annetts said the focus was on delivering a celebration that

belonged to the community.

"Diwali is such an important celebration for the Harris Park community, and we want this event to

genuinely reflect the people, businesses and organisations that make this area what it is," Ms Annetts

said.

"We are expecting around 25,000 people to visit Harris Park throughout the day, and our goal is to

create an event that is welcoming, vibrant and packed with opportunities to experience Indian culture.

"From the stage to the street, we want local community groups and performers to be part of the

celebration and for visitors to leave having experienced something really special in Harris Park."

Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by millions of people around the world and symbolises the

triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

Harris Park has developed into one of Australia's most recognised Indian cultural and dining precincts, making

Wigram Street a fitting backdrop for one of Western Sydney's major Diwali celebrations.
