He sold out Adelaide Fringe. Now Mickey Wilson is coming back to SA

Comedian Mickey Wilson sold out his season at Adelaide Fringe earlier this
year. Instead of banking it and heading back east, he is spending August
driving the same show to eight South Australian towns — starting at the
Ceduna Foreshore Hotel on Thursday 13 August.
From Ceduna he heads to Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Port Augusta, Adelaide,
Victor Harbour, Naracoorte and Mount Gambier, finishing at the Globe Hotel
on Saturday 29 August.
He is doing it out of a caravan, with his wife and three kids.
"People in Ceduna shouldn't have to drive to Adelaide for a decent night
out," Wilson said. "That's a bloody long way to go for a laugh. So I'm
bringing the night out to you. I've got the van, I've got the time, I'm
already covered in bindis — might as well."
Wilson is a qualified auto electrician. Good money, steady work, the trade
he was pushed into as a young bloke and never loved. The turn came at a
remote mine site, lying in a donga FaceTiming his family, doing the sum
plenty of South Australian workers have done at two in the morning: there
has to be more to life than this.
He sold two businesses. He sold the family home. He hooked up the caravan
and went all in on stand-up.
The tour launched in Darwin in September 2025 and has been rolling ever
since — down the east coast, across the Nullarbor, and now into South
Australia.
THE SHOW
HOW YA GOIN? is a 60-minute, high-energy hour on family chaos,
self-sabotage, modern parenting and the everyday absurdities of Australian
life. Wild stories, cheeky filth and brutally honest observations from a
hard-shell Aussie dad with a soft, slightly unstable centre.
Wilson has built more than 40 million views across TikTok, Instagram,
YouTube and Facebook, mostly filmed from the driver's seat of his car,
largely by taking the mickey out of himself, his kids and his borderline
obsessive inner clean freak.
Dave Hughes calls him a rising star of Australian comedy. Theatre Matters
rated his delivery "high octane" with "stellar quick wit". One Adelaide
audience member's review: "Took the missus, we both had tears streaming."
THE MESSAGE UNDER THE JOKES
Wilson is an outspoken advocate for men's mental health and is carrying that
message town to town alongside the show.
"Blokes in country towns don't talk. I know, because I was one of them,
sitting on a mine site not saying a word about how I felt," he said.
"Nobody's paying thirty bucks to be lectured, and I'm not going to do that.
But I'll tell you what I was like when I was miserable in a job I hated,
I'll make you laugh about it, and if one bloke drives home from a show,
thinking 'maybe I'll say something to my mate', that'll do me."
"Life is too short to be doing a job that's making you unhappy. That's the
whole show. I just wrapped it in jokes."
Two blokes in Kalgoorlie have his name tattooed on them. "That's the craziest
thing that's happened to me," Wilson said. "His missus was thrilled,."
