HOYTS to bring SCREENX to New Zealand and two additional Australian locations this year
The rollout of SCREENX across the HOYTS circuit continues, with three new cinemas set to open before the end of the year. The immersive 270-degree panoramic movie experience will soon be available at Wetherill Park and Green Hills in Australia, as well as Sylvia Park, marking HOYTS’ first SCREENX location in New Zealand.
The expansion follows the enthusiastic launch of SCREENX at HOYTS Broadway, in addition to the format’s ongoing success at HOYTS Blacktown and HOYTS Melbourne Central. The new screens will give more moviegoers the opportunity to experience next-level cinematic immersion, with visuals extending beyond the main screen and across the auditorium’s side walls.
HOYTS Group CEO and President Damian Keogh said the continued expansion of SCREENX across the HOYTS circuit reflects the strong response from guests and the company’s ongoing investment in innovative big-screen experiences.
“We’re excited to continue expanding SCREENX across the HOYTS circuit, bringing this immersive cinema experience to even more audiences across Australia and, for the first time, New Zealand,” Damian said.
“We’ve seen an incredibly strong response from guests, and these three new locations are another important step in our commitment to investing in innovative formats that give moviegoers even more reason to choose the big screen.”
“SCREENX offers a completely unique way to enjoy a movie, with panoramic views surrounding you in your seat. With scenes wrapping around you, it truly places you in the centre of the story.”
CJ 4DPLEX CEO Jun Bang said that bringing SCREENX to New Zealand with HOYTS for the first time is a meaningful moment for the company.
"SCREENX turns the auditorium itself into part of the story, and we look forward to welcoming even more moviegoers across New Zealand and Australia into that experience,” Jun said.
The SCREENX expansion comes at an exciting time for movie fans, with a slate of highly anticipated blockbusters set to hit the big screen in the second half of the year, giving audiences even more reason to make their next movie a trip to HOYTS.
