ICAC Public Inquiry into the University of Wollongong starts Monday

NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC)

The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption will hold a public inquiry, starting Monday 22 June 2026 at 10am, as part of an investigation into allegations concerning staff at the University of Wollongong (Operation Scandi).

More information about Operation Scandi is available here. A witness list for the first week of the public inquiry is attached below. Please note that this is subject to change.

The Commission will live stream the proceedings on its website. Exhibits (unless subject to non-publication orders), transcripts and witness lists will also be published online. Updates on the inquiry will be provided via the ICAC X account (@nswicac).

Members of the media and the public may view the proceedings at the Commission’s premises or via the live stream. The stream will be accessible via a link on the ICAC website homepage.

Commissioner Paul Lakatos SC will preside at the public inquiry. Counsel Assisting the Commission will be Emma Bathurst. The public inquiry is set down to be heard over three weeks.

  • 9.30 am – short media briefing on logistical matters
  • 10:00 am – inquiry commences
