The newly formed Australian Council on AI Strategy (ACAIS) is offering the press gallery an off-the-record briefing on frontier AI by Janet Egan, an AI policy expert based in Washington D.C., where she leads analysis of the national security, innovation, and economic implications of frontier AI. She is the Director of AI Policy at the Institute for Progress and an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security. She is a highly respected thinkers on AI and national security, globally. As an Australian and former Director in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Janet brings a unique perspective on the policy challenge in front of Australia.
The inaugural CEO of ACAIS, Anna-Maria Arabia OAM will introduce Ms Egan and is available for questions.
