ISRAELI MILITARY DELIBERATELY MISREPRESENTING GLOBAL SUMUD FLOTILLA AGAIN
The head of the Australian delegation of Global Sumud Flotilla, Simon Jones stated today that Israel is incorrect: Thiago Avila and Saif Abu Keshek are NOT sailing with the flotilla at this time.
They are not aboard any of the 50+ boats that left Turkish waters.
Moreover Israel is looking for pretexts for violence where there are absolutely none. Each participant is a non-aligned, independently-funded volunteer who has been through non-violence training and exercises. Some have endured abuse at Israeli hands before.
Israel also tends to deny or lie about the amount of aid carried and to dismiss the laws protecting aid delivery, claiming that Gazans have access to sufficient food and medicine.
Each boat is monitored by livestream cameras (available on Youtube).
Israel jams comms before boarding and tends to cut the livestream. They do not share their own vision last it incriminate them. Israel therefore cannot prove their allegations of provocation for the cold blooded murders on the Mavi Marmara in 2010.
The flotilla is in international waters and within 2 days sailing of reaching Gaza. The mission is legal under International Maritime Law. Legal comment is available.
