JTB Studios celebrates 2026 Good Design Award for ANZSOG brand and website transformation

Delivered through sister agency Dobre, the project combines brand storytelling with Storyblok technology to bring a public sector institution’s purpose to life.

MELBOURNE — JTB Studios is celebrating a 2026 Australian Good Design Award for the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) brand and website transformation.

Recognised in the Digital — Web Design and Development category, the project was entered through JTB Studios’ sister agency, Dobre, and delivered by the same team behind JTB Studios.

The transformation addresses a challenge facing complex organisations: how to express a distinctive identity while helping people find and use extensive programs, research and events.

For ANZSOG, which develops public sector leaders across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, the project connects brand storytelling with practical digital design.

Bringing the brand’s story to life

A ripple sits at the centre of the new identity, representing how support for an individual public servant extends to government agencies and the communities they serve.

Animated ripple lines carry that idea through the website. Organic shapes, a palette drawn from land, water and sky, and commissioned Indigenous artwork contribute to an identity informed by First Nations and Māori connection.

The design followed stakeholder workshops, staff focus groups, alumni interviews and navigation testing. Discovery identified difficulties with finding information, comparing programs and completing the enrolment journey.

“Every decision, from the ripple in the brand to the way content is structured, came back to what we heard in discovery,” said Aaron Fraser, Digital Director.

Built on Storyblok to support ongoing development

The website combines Storyblok’s content management system with a React front end, giving ANZSOG’s team reusable components to assemble and update pages within a consistent design framework.

That flexibility allows the organisation to develop its digital presence as its programs and content evolve. Motion carries the brand’s themes of connection and knowledge exchange, while restructured navigation helps visitors discover education, research, insights and events.

The platform also integrates event ticketing, enquiry management and search through Zoho Backstage, Salesforce and Algolia.

The award-winning project demonstrates how an organisation’s purpose can shape both the appearance and function of its website, with technology supporting the ongoing expression of its brand.
