Ron Smith and Bob Winters, authors of the new edition of Backyard Bird watching, released today are reminding us in busy times that despite families throughout Australia facing cost of living pressure, bird watching is an activity that can bring joy, rekindle lifetime memories and stories to share with family, friends and neighbours.

Ron Smith said the Backyard Bird watching book has been designed to link into a range of free activities on the internet where families and friends can share children’s drawings or paintings of birds with family, grandparents, friends, aged care facilities and community groups.

On average the fridge door is opened twenty-six times a day. It is an ideal place to share children’s drawings or paintings of birds.

Mobile phones, iPads and cameras provide an effective way to share bird watching activities with family, friends and neighbours creating treasured memories in your garden, local parks, on the beach and holiday locations.

Don’t forget to make up your own drawing book and name the locations of drawings for the record.

Ron Smith and Bob Winters are former schoolteachers, Ron was an Art Teacher and Bob an Environmental Teacher.
