LearnUpon Accelerates APAC Expansion with New Sydney Headquarters and AI-Native 'Courseau' Acquisition
LearnUpon
LearnUpon, a leading global learning management system (LMS), today announced a period of unprecedented growth within the Australian and wider APAC market. This momentum is driven by a profound commitment to a human-powered, AI-assisted vision, headlined by the acquisition of Courseau, an AI-native course authoring platform, and a significant scaling of local operations. Through these strategic investments, LearnUpon is redefining how Australian organisations scale their learning initiatives to meet modern business demands.
The centrepiece of this growth phase is the 2025 acquisition of Courseau, which solves the persistent “content bottleneck” for APAC businesses. By leveraging this AI-native technology, subject matter experts can now develop self-serve learning experiences up to 50 times faster than traditional methods. A fully integrated offering of Courseau will be available soon within the LearnUpon platform, titled Create+.
“Our mission has always been to help organisations unlock the power of learning,” said Brendan Noud, CEO of LearnUpon. “By integrating Courseau’s AI-native authoring directly into the LearnUpon ecosystem, we’re removing the biggest barrier our customers face: the speed of content creation. This acquisition is a testament to our commitment to the APAC region and our global vision of making high-impact learning effortless to deliver.”
Since the appointment of Fiona Sweeney as Director for APAC in mid-2024, LearnUpon has seen a significant surge in regional momentum and local investment. To meet rising demand, the company has expanded its local headcount by 80% over the last two years, ensuring dedicated support and expertise for its growing client base.
This expansion will be further solidified in May when LearnUpon moves into larger, state-of-the-art premises at JustCo Sydney. This new space serves as a collaborative hub for the local workforce as they support over 100 customers across the region, including major industry players like Healthcare Australia, WorkPac, and Jetpilot.
LearnUpon’s regional success is underpinned by its unified, highly scalable platform, designed to serve every business audience. Whether an organisation is focused on internal employee development, external customer education, or member-based association learning, LearnUpon provides a single, cohesive solution that scales as business needs evolve.
“By providing a single platform for the Extended Enterprise, we enable Australian businesses to educate their staff, empower their customers, and add value to their partners simultaneously,” said Fiona Sweeney. “The feedback from our local customers has been clear: they need a partner that can handle the complexity of global training while providing the local intimacy and support that our Sydney team delivers.”
To further support this integrated ecosystem, LearnUpon continues to strengthen its “better together” approach through deep partnerships and technical integrations. A bolstered reseller relationship with Go1 ensures that APAC customers have seamless access to the world’s largest library of digital learning content directly alongside their bespoke internal training. Furthermore, enhanced integrations with global leaders such as HubSpot, BambooHR, and Degreed allow businesses to sync learning data directly with their existing HR and CRM workflows, ensuring learning remains a core part of the business tech stack.
