Light up for carers for National Carers Week

Carers NSW

On Sunday 12 October over 17 iconic landmarks and community sites across NSW will be bathed in blue to mark the beginning of National Carers Week (Sunday 12 October to Saturday 18 October 2025) and celebrate 958,500 people who provide care to a family member or friend.

From Accor Stadium and McDonald Jones Stadium to the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct, Big Banana in Coffs Harbour, Newcastle City Hall Clock Face, Multi -Arts Pavilion Mima (MAO), Manly Town Hall, City Beach Function Centre in Wollongong, Goulburn Visitor Centre and the Coat of Arms located on the Wagga Wagga Civic Centre to name a few. The light up campaign creates a powerful and highly visible message of recognition and unity for carers which shines a spotlight on the incredible contribution carers make to our communities.

Carers NSW CEO Elena Katrakis said the campaign is about recognition and connection.
“Carers are the quiet achievers in our communities, providing daily support to family and friends with little recognition. Lighting up NSW in blue is a beautiful way to say, we see you, we thank you, and we celebrate you,” Ms Katrakis said.

Share your ‘blue-lit’ moments and WIN!
Carers NSW is inviting the community to get involved by capturing the blue-lit landmarks and sharing them on social media.

Post a photo of an illuminated site during National Carers Week using #LightUpWithCarersNSW for the chance to win a $200 gift card.
