Further details on key additions to the resort:
-
New Restaurant: Saluwaki - named for the Fijian word for a collection of indigenous herbs and spices, offers a concept dining experience showcasing Fijian-inspired Asian tapas. Featuring locally sourced ingredients – with some from the Resort’s own gardens and surrounding waters, the menu will present small-plate culinary delights served on handcrafted Kigoromo crockery from Japan, with dishes like ember-roasted Walu and handmade squid ink noodles, paired with curated cocktails and cellar wines. With an open kitchen, guests will enjoy a flavourful and inspired journey through Asia. In an intimate setting with only 28 seats for a “once during a stay” highlight dining event, a Saluwaki dining experience will also be part of the meals -inclusive dining at the Resort.
-
Na Vanua Conservation Hub: Launched in collaboration with the award-winning Ahura Resorts Conservation Foundation – a registered charitable trust, the Na Vanua Conservation Hub offers guests a unique, hands-on opportunity to engage with and support local ecosystems and Fijian culture. Featuring an immersive and interactive space with displays of field projects and opportunities for guests to engage with the Foundation Team, it focuses on conservation efforts like: reforestation, mangrove restoration, the critically-endangered Fiji Crested Iguana conservation program, coral planting, herb garden tours, back-of-house waste and recycle tours, community engagement with the Foundation’s key support project - the local village kindergarten, capacity and legacy building with the island’s indigenous resource owners and more.
"Na Vanua," meaning "the land" in Fijian, reflects the deep connection between the land, people, and nature, and celebrates the resort’s partnership with its traditional landowners to preserve the local ecosystem.
The hub embodies the Foundation’s three key pillars: Above the Sea, Below the Sea, and Community, highlighting the importance of sustainability and cultural preservation. The waters surrounding Malolo Island are in a protection zone as mandated by the Paramount Chief of Malolo Island and this also includes the private island of Mociu (Honeymoon Island) - which is designated for the exclusive use of resort guests, and is under the umbrella programs of biodiversity conservation.
Other enhancements include:
-
Refurbishment and Refresh of All Bures: Every bure at the resort has been refreshed, with 11 Beachfront Bures now also featuring private plunge pools adding to the ever-popular Deluxe Beachfront Bure taking their number to 29, offering even more luxurious, oceanfront accommodations for ultimate relaxation and privacy. The interior of each bure has also been repainted - including the interior wooden floors. New wallpaper and new bathroom tapware have also been added which is complemented by our new additional range of bathroom amenities - all this in addition to the Smart TVs with sound bars and espresso coffee machines introduced in 2024. The Over-Water Bures have also received extra luxe bathroom amenities for the bathing pavilion.
-
Completion of Environmentally Friendly Roof Thatching: Synthetic thatching has been completed on the roofs of the remaining Beachfront and Deluxe Beachfront Bures, further enhancing Likuliku’s sustainability efforts and bringing the entire resort to 100% coverage.
-
Main Restaurant, Dua Tale Bar, Pool and Public Area Bathrooms: The signature restaurant Fijiana has a brand new outdoor terrace deck, new tiling and lighting throughout the interior and upgraded breakfast buffet area. Dua Tale Bar overlooking the Lagoon, has had a complete makeover with new furnishings and design elements, whilst the main pool has been upgraded and refreshed also. In addition, all public area bathrooms have been completed refurbished.
