HOST BROADCAST
On Saturday, 25th April 2026, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in association with the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) is providing a host or international television and radio feed of:
ANZAC Day Dawn Service, Gallipoli, Türkiye 12:30 AEST
ANZAC Day Dawn Service, Villers-Bretonneux, France 13:30 AEST
DETAILS:
Gallipoli Dawn Service
The television feed of the Gallipoli Dawn Service will be clean feed, free of narration, graphics, supers, titles, watermarks, and credits.
The radio feed of the Gallipoli Dawn Service will have branded audio preceding and following the official service. An ‘in cue’ (15 seconds of SFX prior to start of proceedings) and an ‘out cue’ when the catafalque party dismounts — the broadcast will go to SFX audio only for 10 seconds.
Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Service
The television feed of the Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Service will be clean feed, free of narration, graphics (except for the French Address, which will have English subtitles), supers, titles, watermarks, and credits.
The radio feed for the Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Service will have an ‘in cue’ (15 seconds of SFX prior to start of proceedings) and an ‘out cue’ at the end of public wreath laying — will go to SFX audio only for 10 seconds.
The host broadcasts will be provided free of charge to accredited media, on request. Requests for the full live feed for news packages or audio only splits for radio can be accommodated. All broadcasts are HD 16x9 and will have a TV stereo audio mix on tracks 1 & 2 and for Gallipoli, Radio stereo audio on tracks 3 & 4.
Duration: 1 x 1.00 hour approx.
Time available: 12:30 hours (AEST) – 05:30 Türkiye local time – 02:30 UTC
The Gallipoli Dawn Service goes to London via Eutelsat satellite then from London to Sydney via fibre. This service will be available on the incoming satellite in Europe or from ABN (ABC TV) Sydney at 12:30 (AEST). A pre-booking can be made by contacting ABC BOPS Bookings via email: [email protected] or phone +61 2 8333 2684.
Please note: International broadcasters are responsible for arranging a downlink and on pass of the Eutelsat feed or lines from ABN (ABC TV) Sydney to their local point of interconnect. Arrangements from Sydney can be made with Telstra Broadcast Services or Sydney Teleport, at the receiver’s expense.

- To allow broadcasters to have a hosted introduction to the Gallipoli Dawn Service, it will start as follows:
12:30:00 Wide shot with natsot water lapping
12:30:30 Service commences with the Karanga - The Service will finish at approximately 13:27 with the dismount of the catafalque party and the MC’s final address followed by a wide shot with natsot.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service, Villers-Bretonneux, France
- Villers-Bretonneux host broadcast will start as follows:
13:30:00 Wide shot with natsot
13:30:30 Service commences with the playing of the didgeridoo - The Main Service will finish at approximately 14:25:00 with the dismount of the catafalque party followed by the MC and a Wide shot for 10 seconds with natsot. This is followed by the public wreath laying.
The host broadcast will continue to cover the public wreath laying, which runs for approximately 10 minutes — there are multiple opportunities for broadcasters to break away during this time. This is followed by the departure of the official party.
What happens if the Gallipoli Anzac Day Dawn Service finishes early or runs long?
If the Gallipoli Dawn Service finishes before, at or after 13:30:00, the Villers-Bretonneux Host Broadcast Wide shot will start as scheduled at 13:30:00 with the service commencing at 13:30:30.
*As with all live broadcasts this is the plan, but it is subject to unforeseen events. Broadcasters must be flexible enough in their coverage to allow for unforeseen and last-minute changes.
