People who are benefiting from bioelectronics will be discussing their lived experience at the Australasian Bioelectronics, Neurosensing and Neuromodulation Symposium on Monday February 16.

Four patients who have neurosensing/neurostimulation implants will be part of a panel – along with neurologist Professor Mark Cook – at the event at UNSW Sydney.

One of the implants is treating spinal cord injury pain, while the other participants will be a cochlear implantee, a patient with a vagus nerve stimulator for epilepsy and a patient with a deep brain stimulator for Parkinsons.

Patients will be available for interview on the day to talk about their experience living with the implant, along with UNSW academic Associate Professor Mohit Shivdasani and Saluda Medical chief technology officer Dean Karantonis.

EVENT: Australasian Bioelectronics, Neurosensing and Neuromodulation Symposium.

DATE: Monday February 16

TIME: 2pm-3.30pm
