Media alert: New webinar for journalists reporting on violence against women when there are legal restrictions
Our Watch
Journalists, editors and media professionals are encouraged to register for new training exploring legal restrictions when reporting on violence against women.
Our Watch – Australia’s leading violence against women prevention organisation – is joining RMIT’s Centre for Innovative Justice for a two-part webinar later this month looking at overcoming the additional obstacles when reporting responsibly on gender-based violence.
It will cover court processes and how they can impact on reporting fairly and sensitively, as well as practical tips for reporting on violence against women when there are restrictions such as defamation and suppression laws.
