Media Alert: Suva, Fiji - Pacific Civil Society caution ISA of "bluewashing" deep sea mining

Greenpeace Australia Pacific

On the first day of the inaugural International Seabed Authority’s (ISA) so-called “Sustainable Blue Growth” forum in Suva, spokespeople from the Pacific Regional Non-Government Organisations (PRNGO) Alliance, including Pacific Conference of Churches, Council of Social Services, Greenpeace Australia Pacific, and Pacific Network on Globalisation (PANG), will address the media.

Civil society groups warn that the forum is using misleading and politically biased "sustainable blue growth" framing at a moment when Pacific States are actively assessing the future of deep-sea mining.
