Melrose Park Community Cup proves a winner for local groups
The Melrose Park Community Cup, supported by new major sponsor Sekisui House Australia, has once again proved a winner for the local community, with the annual golf day raising a record $102,000 for local organisations last Thursday.
Proceeds from the event which featured an Ambrose Golf Day and a sold-out dinner at Ryde Parramatta Golf Club, will go to the following organisations:
- Parramatta Women’s Shelter
 - West Ryde Rovers
 - Melrose Park Public School
 - St Michael’s Primary School
 - Ermington United
 - Find Ya Feet.

This was the 7th Melrose Park Community Cup, and over the years it has raised more than $600,000 for local organisations that continue to make a meaningful impact in the community.
Ermington United Sport and Recreation Club President, Joe Moses, said the event grew in significance every year.
“The unique thing about this event is, we’re all different community groups from all different backgrounds – but we all come together as one, and we all get along so well,” Mr Moses said. “I would like to thank Sekisui House Australia and all the sponsors for their support.”
Melrose Park Public School P&C Member Nina Mather said, “We’re quite a small community, so it’s really an important part of our annual calendar. For Melrose Park Public School it’s our main fundraiser for the year, and we’re very thankful for Sekisui House for putting it on.
“I’ve attended every year that it’s been on, and it just keeps getting bigger and better every year. Hopefully it will keep going for many more years to come.”
Alex Grujovski, Project Director, Apartment & Mixed-Use Developments at Sekisui House Australia said the company was delighted to be the major sponsor of such an important community initiative.
“There is a wonderful community spirit here in Melrose Park, and the response to this year’s Community Cup has been extraordinary,” he said.
“It’s pleasing to see a packed field of golfers, a sold-out dinner, and so many people coming together to enjoy themselves for a good cause.
“Every one of the groups that benefit plays a vital role in the Melrose Park community, and Sekisui House is proud to lend its support.
“Community is extremely important to Sekisui House, and that’s what we are building here in Melrose Park.
“We believe in the social cohesion of all the groups and we’re not only building new homes, we are also building a brand-new community which will thrive for years to come.”
