Memory Walk & Jog Brisbane just weeks away!
Dementia Australia
The 2025 Brisbane Memory Walk & Jog is just a few short weeks away, with the event taking place on Sunday, 8 June at Rocks Riverside Park, Seventeen Mile Rocks.
Following overwhelming support for last year's Brisbane Memory Walk & Jog, we are returning bigger and better for another year.
Memory Walk & Jog Brisbane will help advance the work of Dementia Australia, which delivers invaluable support, education and resources for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Memory Walk & Jog is about being part of the community and feeling supported. We are in this together, which is why participants can walk, jog or run and select from either 2km, 5km, or 10km in distance.
Dementia Australia Ambassador Wally Lewis AM will be joining the Memory Walk & Jog Brisbane event and is calling on the Brisbane community to join Team Wally Lewis and get involved by walking, running, volunteering, donating or supporting 2025 participants.
“Queenslanders have always stuck together during the hard times, and it doesn’t get much harder than watching someone you love impacted by dementia,” Wally said.
“Memory Walk & Jog provides a day that family and friends can come together in a fun environment to promote good health and support each other, especially supporting those who are living with dementia.
“With dementia being the leading cause of death for women and the second leading cause for men in Australia, many Queensland families will unfortunately be touched by dementia in some way, shape or form. Raising awareness and providing support, not only for those living with dementia, but for family and friends, to help provide them with the tools to support and care for their loved ones, is not only needed but it’s a necessity.”
Memory Walk & Jog is also a great opportunity for everyone to get active which research shows can help reduce our risk of dementia. Get active and beat dementia. Sign-up to participate in Memory Walk & Jog or volunteer by visiting https://www.memorywalk.com.au/event/brisbane/home.
