Ministerial visit recognises Transit9 partnership with CMET in Canberra

Transit9’s partnership with Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) was recognised during a recent visit by Irish Minister Kevin “Boxer” Moran T.D. as part of St Patrick’s Day engagements in the region, with Her Excellency Ms Fiona Flood, Ambassador of Ireland to Australia, also in attendance.

The visit, supported by Enterprise Ireland, marked both the successful deployment of initial Transit9 modules and CMET’s continued rollout of the wider platform across its operations.

Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) operates and maintains Canberra’s light rail network, delivering safe, reliable and efficient transport services for the local community. The organisation plays a critical role in supporting the city’s public transport infrastructure and ongoing growth.

CMET is using Transit9 to support permits and contractor management, with safety management forming part of a broader staged rollout. This structured approach enables capability to be introduced quickly while building towards a fully connected operational environment.

Through the platform, operational events, safety records and workforce data are linked in real time to support coordinated decision making, improved visibility and targeted actions, including additional training where required. This creates a clear and auditable pathway from issue identification through to resolution, strengthening consistency and collaboration across teams.

The platform integrates with existing systems to provide a single, consistent operational view, reducing manual effort and improving data accuracy across the network.
