- Hino Australia has launched a Hybrid Electric version of its popular 300 Series Built to Go Tipper Pro, available in 6.5 tonne and 8 tonne GVM variants, with the model now on sale at Hino dealerships nationwide.
- The Hybrid Electric Tipper Pro can reduce fuel costs by as much as 24% compared to an equivalent diesel truck, whilst meeting Euro 6 emission standards and offering no range or recharging limitations.
- The Tipper Pro features a Kyokuto Kaihatsu tipper body designed for Australian operators, including a three-way barn door style tailgate, and is targeted at the trade market, councils, and road and infrastructure industries.
- From June, all Hino 300 Series Hybrid Electric models include standard fitment of Hino-Connect, an Australian-built telematics system providing real-time vehicle and driver performance data, fuel usage reports, maintenance tracking, and fleet security alerts.
- All Hino 300 Series Hybrid Electric models come with a comprehensive safety package (Hino SmartSafe), a 5-year or 250,000km warranty, and form part of the broader Hino Advantage suite, which includes capped price servicing, 24/7 roadside assistance, and finance options.
Following the outstanding success of its 300 Series Built to Go Tipper Pro diesel model, Hino Australia has announced the launch of a Hybrid Electric equivalent model.
Hino has also recently further enhanced its entire Hybrid Electric range of 300 Series with the standard fitment of its Hino-Connect business intelligence and telematics from June.
Hybrid Electric Tipper Pro
Since its introduction in 2021, the Tipper Pro diesel model has quickly become the most popular Tipper in Hino Australia’s Built to Go line-up, and Hino expects the same from the Hybrid Electric equivalent.
“With a proven Kyokuto Kaihatsu Tipper body and a reliable Hybrid Electric drivetrain that has no range or recharging limitations, the new Built to Go Tipper Pro will provide customers with a high quality, cost effective and versatile drive-away solution that can reduce business operating costs from day one,” said Daniel Petrovski, Manager – Product Strategy for Hino Australia.
The Tipper Pro body has been developed to suit the unique requirements of Australian operators and features a three-way “barn door” style tailgate, body lock and rope rails.
“Highly popular within the trade market, councils, and the road and infrastructure industries, the addition of the Hybrid Electric Tipper Pro Built to Go models further increases the variety of applications that our Hino Hybrid Electric range is ready for,” he continued.
Available in Wide Cab, the new Hybrid Electric Tipper will be initially offered in both 6.5 tonne and 8 tonne GVM for increased versatility.
Compared to an equivalent diesel truck, a 300 Series Hybrid Electric can significantly reduce a customer’s fuel costs by as much as 24% in Wide Cab Variants.
“After we displayed the Hybrid Electric Built to Go Tipper Pro prototype at the Brisbane Truck Show, the response from our customers was overwhelmingly positive, and it is now on sale in Hino dealerships nationwide,” said Mr Petrovski.
The six-speed automated transmission with the electric drive motor directly coupled to it results in quicker gear shifts and smoother take-offs.
“Hino customers appreciate the drive-away convenience of our Built to Go range, which includes a comprehensive range of tray and tipper models available with either conventional diesel or Hybrid Electric engine.
All Hino 300 Series light-duty trucks feature Hino SmartSafe, a comprehensive safety package with advanced driver-assist technology that takes an active focus in protecting the lives of all road users.
Hino SmartSafe includes a Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection (PD) and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS).
This is in addition to Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), reverse camera, dual SRS airbags, four-wheel disc brakes UN ECE R29 cab strength certified and hill easy start.
Standard Hino-Connect on all Hino Hybrid Electric models
From June, all Hino 300 Series Hybrid Electric models benefit from the standard fitment of Hino-Connect, an Australian-built and designed telematics system that provides customers with real-time vehicle and driver performance data, fuel usage reports, maintenance tracking, fleet security alerts and dedicated case management.
“Hino-Connect is also standard on our heavy-duty 700 Series and medium-duty 500 Series, assisting customers to optimise the performance of their fleets,” said Mr Petrovski.
Hino-Connect is part of the Hino Advantage suite of business solutions that are designed to reduce costs over the life of the vehicle.
Other Hino Advantage solutions include Hino SmartSafe, Capped Price Servicing, Hino Genuine Parts, 24/7 Hino Roadside Assist, finance options, and customer support provisions via the Hino Customer Care Centre.
All Hino 300 Series Hybrid Electric models come with a 5 Years or 250,000km standard warranty, whichever comes first.
