Mount Isa Mines Rodeo to welcome a very special cowgirl… one with wings!
The iconic red dirt arena at Buchanan Park is about to be taken to new heights as Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, presented by Akubra, announces a show-stopping addition to its 2026 program: Dayna Bradshaw, otherwise known as Cowgirls With Wings will make the almost 2,000km round trip with five performance horses and a Cowgoose! Hailing from NSW country near Inverell, Dayna Bradshaw is Australia’s only female trick rider performing the full American-style spectacle, backbends, handstands, gymnastics stunts, all at full gallop. A professional entertainer for almost a decade, she has thrilled audiences across South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Canberra and the Northern Territory.
“This has been my dream rodeo to perform at since I was 16,” Dayna says. “Finally stepping into the famous red dirt arena at Mount Isa will be a career highlight, and I can’t wait to share the magic with everyone.”
The performance will feature Dayna and her partner riding five champion horses — Bambi, the star of the show, along with Macey, Piper, Magic, and Dodge, executing tricks not seen in Australia for years.
And the wings? That comes courtesy of Popcorn the Roman Goose, a seasoned Cowgoose, dressed in full cowgoose regalia and ready to steal hearts during Meet & Greet sessions after the show.
With the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo already bringing together Australia’s top cowgirls, Dayna Bradshaw adds a unique, electrifying twist, combining horsemanship, daring stunts, and theatrical flair for a must-see event in the heart of Outback Queensland.
This announcement come on the back of news Townsville’s own, The Barnyard Band will headline entertainment across Friday and Saturday nights, August 7 and 8. Front and centre is Laurence Sorbello, award-winning crowd participation country entertainer and master showman, paired with the explosive fiddle brilliance of Katisha Adelaide and their all-star five piece band, delivering a two night country concert spectacular that pays homage to the greatest country artists of all time as well as showcasing their debut songs being released in 2026..
