With construction progressing smoothly and an on-site display suite opening earlier this month, Keyton’s Sunrise Beach Village will offer an elevated lifestyle and premium Sunshine Coast retirement living experience when stage one is completed next year.

Local architectural firm Blackburne Jackson’s design response focuses on blending the village with its surrounding environment, taking advantage of the unique retirement location, nestled harmoniously between the beach and bush.

Blackburne Jackson Director Laura Ronchi says this focus on reflecting a sense of place was achieved by integrating “a coastal aesthetic with natural materials and colours as well as maximising natural light and airflow”.

This commitment to honouring the local surrounds is augmented by initiatives delivered with project partners BlueCare to balance the impact of development. An Australian Native Plant Program has delivered thousands of community plantings alongside education and research, while more than 200 grass trees salvaged from the site have been expertly cared for while awaiting their return home for final landscaping.

The centrepiece however has been a $2 million rehabilitation program that has seen Keyton and BlueCare convert three hectares of degraded land at nearby Girraween Nature Refuge into what will be protected bushland.

One thousand she-oaks have been planted, the preferred feed trees of glossy black cockatoos, and hundreds of other natives that will be protected into the future.

On completion, Sunrise Beach Village will offer 122 high-quality independent living retirement homes, with a mix of two and three- bedroom apartments and villas, alongside resort-style amenities such as a Community Clubhouse, heated swimming pool, private theatre, e-bike hire, gym, and much more.

Each residence is generously sized and is designed to reflect the relaxed coastal lifestyle for which Noosa is best known.

Keyton Chief Executive Officer Nathan Cockerill says Sunrise Beach Village is going to be a phenomenal place offering a wonderful lifestyle in an area where retirement living is much needed.

“It’s a place that exemplifies the Keyton difference reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional lifestyle communities where residents can live healthier, happier more connected lives,” Mr Cockerill said.

Co-located adjacent to BlueCare’s Sunrise Beach Residential Aged Care facility, Sunrise Beach Village provides residents with the appealing opportunity to age in place.

BlueCare’s General Manager of Retirement Living, Natalie Smith, said BlueCare shares a vision with Keyton at Sunrise Beach to enable residents to age well while minimising disruption to their lifestyle.

“Our partnership with Keyton, who is developing and operating Sunrise Beach Village on behalf of BlueCare, is built on a foundation of quality, care and trust. This means the opportunity for a seamless transition to our new Sunrise Beach Aged Care residence that is here on site for when residents need additional support,” Ms Smith said.

For Keyton, the aim of Sunrise Beach Village is to create a thriving, connected community where residents are able to age in place and live life to the fullest surrounded by the very best of nature and the Sunshine Coast’s wonderful lifestyle.
