Nominations Now Open for the 2025 National Palliative Care Awards

Palliative Care Australia (PCA) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 National Palliative Care Awards.
Held every two years, these awards recognise excellence, innovation and leadership in Australia’s palliative care sector. They shine a light on the individuals, teams and organisations who go above and beyond to provide compassionate care and support to people at the end of life.
Presented in partnership with Silverchain, a leading national provider of in-home health and aged care services supporting over 140,000 Australians each year, the 2025 awards will continue the tradition of acknowledging those making an outstanding impact across the sector.
Award categories for 2025 include:
- Emerging Leader
- Emerging Researcher
- Outstanding Work by a Team in Delivering Palliative Care
- Innovation in Palliative Care
- Outstanding Achievement in Volunteering
- Outstanding Achievement in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Palliative Care
- Outstanding Achievement by an Individual in Palliative Care
- Lifetime Achievement Award
“These awards are an important opportunity to recognise the dedicated people working every day to ensure Australians receive high-quality, compassionate palliative care,” said Camilla Rowland, CEO of Palliative Care Australia.
Winners will be announced during the Gala Dinner at the Oceanic Palliative Care Conference (OPCC) on Thursday 11 September 2025, held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The conference is the premier event for the sector, drawing professionals from across Australia and the region to connect, collaborate and celebrate. Nominations are free and open to individuals and teams working in palliative care across Australia. Submissions close Thursday 19 June 2025.
