North Sydney Council announces date for New Years Eve ticket sales
North Sydney Council
Following community feedback, North Sydney Council has introduced several changes for New Year's Eve 2026 aimed at improving safety, enhancing accessibility and creating a better experience for residents and visitors alike.
What’s new for NYE 2026
- Cremorne Point will be Council-managed for the first time. Acting on community feedback, we’ve introduced bag checks and crowd control measures, so NYE is safer and more enjoyable for residents
- The Accessible Viewing Platform returns in 2026, this time with an increased capacity of 250 places. The Accessible Viewing Platform at Milsons Point Wharf offers a free, dedicated viewing area for people with accessibility requirements and their guests, providing step-free access, accessible facilities and outstanding views of Sydney Harbour's New Year's Eve fireworks
- Bradfield Park Lower has been introduced as a new, paid vantage point, so more people can enjoy world-class views of the fireworks
- Blues Point Reserve continues to be a ticketed, paid vantage point
Tickets are limited and demand is high. Secure a spot at one of North Sydney’s ticketed vantage points through Council’s website from 9am 7 October.
The changes follow a fairer funding model that ensures visitors who enjoy the event contribute to its costs, rather than North Sydney ratepayers footing the bill.
North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker said the changes were designed to balance the needs of residents with the opportunity to welcome visitors to one of Sydney Harbour's most anticipated annual events
"Every year, I hear from residents about the challenges that come with New Year's Eve, from large crowds to the impact on our open spaces and local community,” Mayor Baker said.
“That's why we're making some important changes this year. We're introducing a managed site at Cremorne Point, ticketing at Bradfield Park Lower, continuing ticketing at Blues Point and adding 100 more places to our free accessible viewing area.
“These changes will help improve safety, accessibility and crowd management, while ensuring the people who use these special public spaces contribute to the cost of maintaining and improving them, not just North Sydney ratepayers.”
Tickets are on sale at 9am, Wednesday 7 October 2026.
