One woman a week: Jess Hill leads UNSW forum confronting urgent crisis

Australia has vowed to end gendered violence within a generation, but intimate partner abuse and domestic homicide rates are still rising – with at least one woman killed each week.

Investigative journalist and one of the country’s leading advocates on gendered violence Jess Hill will lead an event at UNSW next week exploring the essential question: how can we put an end to this national crisis?

The program features a keynote address, followed by a conversation and Q&A with Director of Childlight UNSW Professor Michael Salter, chaired by Sarah Malik. Together they will unpack the complexities of this urgent national issue and explore how to change the trajectory on this national scourge.

The event on Wednesday 24 September is part of UNSW Diversity Festival and is supported by the Gendered Violence Research Network which unites UNSW’s research expertise to respond, prevent and end gendered violence in Australia and beyond.
